We seek to collect only the personal information reasonably necessary for the purposes
identified at or before the time of collection.

2. Rental Applications

When you submit a rental application, Homeward Bound may collect personal information
for purposes including:
• identifying and communicating with applicants;
• reviewing and processing rental applications;
• confirming employment, income, rental history, and references;
• determining an applicant's ability to meet rental obligations;
• conducting credit or other authorized screening checks;
• selecting suitable applicants for available rental accommodations;
• preparing a tenancy agreement if an application is approved; and
• meeting applicable legal and regulatory requirements.

Submitting an application does not guarantee approval or the availability of a rental unit.

Where a credit check, reference check, or other third-party verification requires your consent, we will obtain the appropriate consent before proceeding.

Homeward Bound does not require a Social Insurance Number as a condition of submitting a rental application.

3. How We Use Personal Information

We may use personal information for purposes reasonably connected with our property management operations, including to:

• process rental applications;
• communicate with applicants, tenants, occupants, property owners, contractors,
and service providers;
• establish and administer tenancy agreements;
• collect and administer rent, deposits, and other authorized payments;
• coordinate repairs, maintenance, inspections, and property services;
• manage tenant and property records;
• respond to questions, requests, complaints, or emergencies;
• protect the safety, security, and integrity of our properties, tenants, employees, and
operations;
• investigate suspected fraud, property damage, lease violations, or unlawful activity;
• administer legal, regulatory, insurance, accounting, or financial obligations; and
• operate, maintain, and improve our website and services.

We will not use personal information for purposes materially different from those for which it was collected without obtaining additional consent, unless otherwise permitted or required by law.

We take reasonable steps to keep personal information accurate and up to date where
necessary for the purposes for which it is used.

• access to personal information Homeward Bound holds about them;

independently applying for rental accommodation.
